In the Christian calendar, the 40 days preceding Easter is known as Lent, observed with reflection and sacrifice. It begins on Ash Wednesday, when, at 6 p.m., all are welcome to participate in a solemn service of contemplation and prayer. A light supper (free-will offering) will follow, along with a Lenten study program.
