Reeths-Puffer's Jersi Bilek led Rocket runners' efforts at
Saturday's Cougar Falcon Invitational at Calvin University, finishing in
fourth place individually.
Bilek led R-P to a fifth-place team finish in the girls' race, while the R-P boys finished seventh.
The
Rockets' junior star ran a season-best time of 19:36.9 to earn her
fourth-place finish, and Gabrielle Chevez wasn't far behind, coming in
sixth with her own season-best time of 20:34.1.
Kaitlyn Durow
finished 25th for the Rockets (22:44.4), and Adrienne Fluette (23:57.3)
and Darcy Keefe (24:26.8) placed 34th and 37th respectively.
In
the boys' race, Jack Yonkman led the Rockets by finishing in 28th
(18:04.1). Samuel Perez was the second R-P finisher, in 39th, and
continued his trend of lowering his personal best time in each of his
five races this season (18:58.6). Also scoring were Dylan Sturr (53rd,
22:19.6), Gage Bouwman (54th, 22:44.6) and Jonathan Visscher (58th,
24:14.9).
