Reeths-Puffer and Montague both competed at Saturday's West Ottawa Invitational, with the Reeths-Puffer girls team's seventh-place finish the highest team finish of the two.
The Rockets' Jersi Bilek had the highest individual finish among local runners, coming in 11th place with a season-best time of 19:50.4. Also scoring for the Rockets were Gabrielle Chevez (34th, 21:12.0), Kaitlyn Durow (67th, 22:31.2), Adrienne Fluette (75th, 22:52.2) and Charli Belinger (96th, 24:10.5).
Montague's girls finished in 13th place, led by Grace Torsch's 44th-place finish (21:38.2). The Wildcats' other scorers were Erica Hansen (95th, 24:10.0), April Howard (119th, 26:13.9), Carmen Howard (125th, 27:56.5) and Candela Garcia (127th, 31:20.2).
In the boys' race, Montague finished 11th, and the Rockets were 14th. Noah Raeth led the Wildcats, placing 31st in a time of 17:27.8. Nolan Kessler followed in 41st place (17:54.3). Other Montague scorers were Alix Draves (71st, 18:34.2), Gibson Sholes (82nd, 19:01.1) and Bucky Aney (85th, 19:10.1).
R-P's top runner was Jack Yonkman, in 59th place (18:15.9), followed by teammates Dylan Sturr (84th, 19:08.7), Samuel Perez (115th, 20:13.4), Gage Bouwman (136th, 21:30.3) and Jonathan Visscher (155th, 23:55.8).
