Reeths-Puffer's recent success hit a brief snag Tuesday, as the Rockets had to settle for fourth place at the Caledonia jamboree at Saskatoon Golf Course.
R-P was a close third place at the previous jamboree, only four shots out of first, but slid backwards with a team score of 198 Tuesday, 34 strokes behind first-place Caledonia.
“Success does not always come easy," Rockets' coach Matt Pallett said. "Sometimes you have to take a step back to take a couple steps forward. Today was one of those days for the team. I am looking forward to seeing how the team bounces back from not one of our best days.”
Sophia McCollum and Rowan Bluhm paced the Rockets Tuesday, each shooting a 43 to tie for fifth place individually.
Olivia Ambler shot a 53 for the Rockets, and Ella Voorhies had a 59. Though Emma Dvorak did not score for the team, shooting a 61, she did score her first career birdie on the par-3 fourth hole.
