Stewart Waters earns top spot, three top-10 finishers propel Whitehall boys to 2nd at Allendale Invite

Stewart Waters earned first place, leading three top-10 finishers for Whitehall, as the Vikings earned the runner-up spot as a team in the small-school Falcon division of Saturday's Allendale Invitational.
Waters broke 16 minutes for the first time in his career, blowing past his previous personal best by nearly 20 seconds with a time of 15:57.94. He won the race by 20 seconds.
Teammates Hunter Parsons and Drew Boeringa also earned personal best times and placed in the top 10. Parsons was fourth and finished in a time of 16:50.7, and Boergina placed eighth with a time of 17:06.4.
Tyler Van Antwerp finished 30th for Whitehall (18:24.1) and Rex Pumford was 34th (18:35.9), both also in personal best times.
The Montague boys placed sixth, with Alix Draves leading the Wildcats with a 16th-place finish (17:40.6). Nolan Kessler rounded out the top 20 and had a time of 17:45.5. Noah Raeth (27th, 18:08.5), Bucky Aney (35th, 18:41.0) and Matthew Leatherman (39th, 19:01.3) also scored for Montague. Kessler and Aney's times were both personal bests.
In the girls' race, Whitehall finished in fourth place and Montague was eighth. Cami Kraai and Adalyn Britton both placed in the top 10 for the Vikings, with Kraai in third place (20:27.7) and Britton in fifth (20:38.7). Corina Mitteer was 18th (22:52.99) and Kassie Sapp was 24th (23:23.1), with Reese Hesse closing out the scoring in 31st place (23:52.7).
Erica Hansen led Montague in 38th place (24:35.9), with Grace Reavey right behind her in 41st (24:58.8). April Howard (46th, 25:29.97), Carmen Hoawrd (55th, 27:34.4) and Candela Garcia (58th, 29:53.9) also scored.
Reeths-Puffer competed in the large-school Scarlet division of the race. The Rocket girls finished sixth and the boys were 11th.
Jersi Bilek owned the Rockets' top finish, placing ninth in the girls' race. Her time was 19:24.2, a season best. Gabrielle Chevez was 17th (20:20.3). Kaitlyn Durow (41st, 22:12.5), Adrienne Fluette (47th, 22:39.2) and Charli Belinger (60th, 23:35.7) also scored for R-P.
Rocket boys' scorers were Jack Yonkman (55th, 18:04.8), Dylan Sturr (57th, 18:20.9), Samuel Perez (63rd, 18:54.4), Jamie Neel (75th, 19:29.3) and Gage Bouwman (84th, 20:43.6).
