Whitehall enjoyed an excellent performance at Saturday's Allegan
Invitational, finishing in a third-place tie out of eight teams with 37
points.
The Vikings outscored a pair of Division 4 top-10
teams, scoring a point more than #8 Lumen Christi and nine more than #9
Notre Dame Prep, which had substitute players at a pair of doubles
flights.
Whitehall's top finisher was Evan Schuitema at No. 3
singles, going 2-1 to finish in second place and defeating Lansing
Catholic and Calvin Christian players in straight sets.
A pair
of Viking doubles pairs earned third-place finishes. At No. 2 doubles,
Jon Hall/Myles Welch went 2-1, earning a close win over Ludington and an
easy two-set win over Calvin Christian. Evan Thomas/Elijah Roberge, who
moved up to No. 3 doubles for the invitational, also finished in third
with a pair of tough wins over Notre Dame Prep and Lansing Catholic. No.
4 doubles pair Remington Whelpley/Adam Sikkenga also went 2-1,
defeating Allegan and Notre Dame Prep pairs.

Burger, Brady Tate and Ryne Nicholas each picked up a singles win for
the Vikings, and No. 1 doubles pair Patrick Cole/Ian Sampson also won a
match.
