Whitehall finished in second place and Montague was third in the
West Michigan Conference Mega Meet's boys race Tuesday in Fremont.
The
Mega Meet brings all 14 WMC schools together once a year, while the
teams compete in the Lakes and Rivers divisions most of the season.
Viking
runners Stewart Waters and Hunter Parsons earned the top two spots in
the boys' race, with Waters finishing in a time of 17:18.3 and Parsons
clocking in at 17:41.0. Montague's Noah Raeth finished in fourth place,
with a time of 17:50.1.
Drew Boeringa placed 10th for
Whitehall with a time of 18:21.1, rounding out local top-10 finishers.
Also scoring for the Vikings were Tyler Van Antwerp (27th, 19:27.5) and
Justin Jensen (35th, 19:55.1).
Nolan Kessler took 12th place
for Montague (18:32.9) and was followed by Gibson Sholes (21st,
19:08.8), Bucky Aney (23rd, 19:13.0) and Alix Draves (26th, 19:25.5).
In the girls' race, Whitehall finished in third place, while Montague was unable to score as a team.
Cami
Kraai led the Vikings with a third-place finish (20:56.3) and Adalyn
Britton took sixth (21:31.2). Also scoring were Kassie Sapp (11th,
22:41.2), Corina Mitteer (30th, 24:32.9) and Ella Nicholson (34th,
25:35.5).
Erica Hansen led Montague finishers by coming in
42nd place (26:21.6). Wildcat runners April Howard (50th, 27:17.6),
Candela Garcia (80th, 32:01.1) and Carmen Howard (91st, 34:00.1) also
crossed the line.
