Despite scoring its best 18-hole score of the season Thursday,
Reeths-Puffer had to settle for fourth place at the O-K Green Conference
end-of-season tournament.
The Rockets shot a 344, a
nine-stroke improvement over their previous best score, but was outdone
by equally impressive efforts from three league foes. Caledonia led the
pack with a 322.
βIt is hard to shoot your best team round of the year and finish fourth, but
that just shows the quality of teams in the O-K Green," Rockets' coach Matt Pallett said. "We continue to
trend in the right direction as we head to regionals.β
Rowan
Bluhm and Sophia McCollum, as they have so much this season, led R-P.
Bluhm shot her career-best round, a 76, to place second individually.
She birdied twice and scored worse than bogey only twice. McCollum added
an 81, tying for fourth place on the leaderboard.
βI am very proud of Rowan and Sophia," Pallett said. "To be all-conference in this
conference is no easy thing. Both had great years and earned everything
they got.β
Olivia Ambler shot an 89, her career-best, a score
made even more impressive by playing shorthanded; Pallett said a couple
of her clubs were broken and unusable during the round. Ella Voorhies
had a 98, including a birdie, to round out R-P scoring.
