Reeths-Puffer volleyball battles adversity in loss to Jenison

Reeths-Puffer was forced to make a lineup tweak Thursday because of injury and illness taking out two rotation players, but the Rockets nevertheless displayed resilience while falling to Jenison in O-K Green Conference play, 25-21, 25-11, 25-8.
The Rockets (10-21, 1-8 O-K Green) "put up a heck of a fight" in game one of the match, coach Justin Birr said, displaying solid play in all three phases of the game. The state-ranked Wildcats, though, were ultimately too much for R-P.
Birr credited middle hitters Hailey Johnsen and Makayla Disselkoen with strong blocking and Kiera Ketner with ably stepping in at libero as Carlee Bowen was moved to the outside to account for absences.
Madilynn Dyer had 13 assists in the match, and Alissa Klopp posted seven kills. Ketner had seven digs.
