Whitehall soccer settles for tie at Ravenna

Whitehall surrendered a late lead and had to settle for a 2-2 tie Wednesday night at Ravenna.
The Vikings (6-9-1, 6-3-1 West Michigan Conference) trailed 1-0 at halftime but surged into the lead in the second half on a goal by Royce Freed, assisted by Keegan Frees, then a penalty kick by Andon Palmer.
"The Vikings buckled down in the second half and found their focus," coach Adam Prince said.
Ravenna took advantage of a Whitehall miscue on a corner kick with under 10 minutes left to score the tying goal. The Vikings finished in fifth place in the league standings.
