Whitehall was competitive for much of the match Thursday night
against North Muskegon, but a couple of brief lulls were enough to help
the Norse pull away for a 25-15, 21-25, 25-8, 25-20 win.
"We
played a couple of good sets tonight, but we lacked the consistency it
takes to beat a good team," Whitehall coach Ted Edsall said.
The
Vikings (13-18) struggled on offense, hitting just .083, but Bella
Fogus turned in a strong performance, with 16 kills. Sidney Shepherd and
Lou Mulder teamed up for a combined 29 assists.
On defense,
Aaliyah Jamison had 19 digs for Whitehall. Shepherd had a pair of
blocks. Whitehall made eight service errors in the match.
