Whitehall's Waters wins his 3rd straight race at Ludington jamboree

Stewart Waters picked up his third consecutive race win Tuesday at the Ludington jamboree, helping Whitehall's boys team finish second behind Fremont.
The Viking girls placed third, just one point behind runner-up Fremont. Montague finished fourth in the boys' race and fifth in the girls' race.
Waters won the race by 15 seconds, posting a time of 17:03.9. As they did in the Allendale meet the previous Saturday, Hunter Parsons and Drew Boeringa both finished in the top 10, with Parsons in fourth place (17:42.3) and Boeringa taking seventh (17:55.7).
Rex Pumford finished 20th for the Vikings (19:00.8), and Justin Jensen closed the scoring with a 27th-place finish (20:10.4).
Cami Kraai led Whitehall in the girls' race, coming in fourth place with a time of 20:44.4, and Adalyn Britton took fifth in a time of 21:32.4. Corina Mitteer finished 13th (23:18.6), with Kassie Sapp in 15th (23:41.1) and Reese Hesse in 23rd (25:03.95).
Alix Draves was the top Montague boys' finisher, coming in 13th place in a time of 18:26.4. Three other Wildcats reached the top 20: Noah Raeth (15th, 18:41.4), Nolan Kessler (16th, 18:41.7) and Bucky Aney (19th, 18:57.2). Gibson Sholes closed the Wildcat scoring in 29th place (20:12.6).
For the Montague girls, Grace Torsch led the way in 21st place (24:19.3). Other scoring Wildcats were April Howard (31st, 26:30.2), Erica Hansen (33rd, 26:51.5), Grace Reavey (35th, 27:24.1) and Carmen Howard (42nd, 29:29.8).
