Hesperia boys roll to dominant rivalry win over Holton

An all-around great team performance led Hesperia’s boys basketball team to a 55-27 win over conference rival Holton, Tuesday, Dec. 17.

The Panthers led throughout the game’s entirety, leaning on their senior leadership to get the job done.

Senior post Ethan O’Neil led the offense with 18 points while senior guard Ian Fox chipped in 10. Jared Tanner nearly etched another double-double into his senior season, scoring nine points and adding 10 rebounds.

On the defensive side, Hesperia senior Andrew Sherburn pestered Holton’s offense, creating numerous turnovers.

The Panthers broke a string of three-straight losses with the win over Holton, improving their overall record to 2-3. Starting their record in the West Michigan Conference Rivers Division at 1-0, Hesperia will look to add another when they travel west to take on Shelby, Friday, Dec. 20 at 7 p.m.
