Pentwater’s Girls Basketball team dropped a 50-49 overtime heartbreaker at home to Holton, Monday, Dec. 16.
The Falcons struggled converting on free throws, shooting under 20 percent from the charity stripe. Untimely turnovers also cost them.
“We finished 4-for-27 from the free throw line,” Pentwater Head Coach Jeff Knapp said. “We will be back in the gym tomorrow to figure that out.”
Aubrie Adams led Pentwater in scoring with 20 points while going 6-for-14 from three-point range. Charlie Swanger added 11 points and nine rebounds while Karina Olivarez scored nine of her own.
“We shot 36 percent as a team from the three-point line, and 14 percent from the free throw line. Go figure,” Knapp said.
The loss dropped Pentwater to 2-2 overall on the season. The Falcons will return to conference play, Thursday, Dec. 19 as they take on Marion on the road. Pentwater currently sits at 2-0 in the West Michigan D League.
