Montague bowling teams rip Whitehall in rivalry match

Montague earned a sweep of rival Whitehall Wednesday afternoon in West Michigan Conference bowling action, with the boys winning the closer of the two matches 23-7. The girls dominated in a 29-1 victory.
Montague dominated in singles play in the boys' match, earning 17 of the possible 20 points. Eli Hysell and Logan Hunter each won both of their matches, and Ethan Hite had the Wildcats' highest winning score, a 175. He also rolled a 178, and teammate Matthew Leatherman bowled a 210, though both those scores were topped by Viking opponents. For Whitehall, Mason Slaughter won both his singles matches with games of 220 and 174, and Max Schneider had a 182.
It was all Montague in the girls' match, led by an impressive 206 from Jordyn Tolan. Tolan, Alanna Hysell and Carmen Howard each won a pair of singles matches, and the Wildcats won all 10 Baker points. Felicity Dingman earned the Vikings' lone point by bowling a 136.
