Montague and Reeths-Puffer each delivered good performances Saturday at the Mona Shores Invitational, with the Wildcats earning the top spot among the smaller schools competing while R-P was second in Division 2.
The Wildcats scored 617.29 points, easily outpacing Western Michigan Christian for the leading score for Divisions 3 and 4. Montague racked up by far the top scores in all three rounds among those four teams, including 265.59 points in the final round. They only took 10 penalty points in the meet.
R-P was even better on its way to finishing second behind Fruitport among D-2 teams, with only eight penalty points. The Rockets had 698.76 points in total, including a 209.86-point mark in round two that was the highest score of anyone in the meet apart from the host Sailors.
