Reeths-Puffer played yet another thriller Wednesday night against
fellow top-10 team Grandville, with the Bulldogs coming out on top
thanks to a last-minute goal.
Grandville's Lewis Gardine
scored on the power play with 57 seconds to go in the game to win it for
the Bulldogs and preserve their unbeaten O-K Fischer Conference record.
It was the third consecutive R-P game in which a goal in the final
minute changed the outcome; Byron Center scored with 18 seconds left to
tie the Rockets Jan. 24, and R-P scored a winner in the final minute
against Caledonia the next night.
Bucky Aney and Tyler Tindall
each scored a goal for R-P, and goaltender Mark Stewart made 33 saves.
Reeths-Puffer (13-6-2, 4-3-1 O-K Fischer) ended the league season in a
second-place tie with Mona Shores going into the upcoming conference
tournament.
