Montague finished third to earn a regional spot Saturday at the Division 3 district meet hosted by Comstock Park.
The
Wildcats scored 666.86 points, easily clearing the bar to pick up one
of the four regional qualifying spots. Whitehall finished eighth, with
637.88 points.
As usual, Montague had a strong round three,
which proved a key factor in its qualification. The Wildcats scored
279.5 points in the final round, just a few behind the top two district
placers, Grand Rapids West Catholic and Hart. Montague also had a good
round two, with 180.36 points to rank third in that round as well.
Whitehall's best round was round two, in which the Vikings scored 173.68 points, the fifth-most of all competing teams.
