Montague got within two points twice down the stretch Tuesday night against Allendale, but came up just short in a 48-43 defeat.
The Wildcats (9-7) trailed 31-20 at halftime but quickly got back in the game by allowing only three third-quarter points. However, Allendale was able to hold on for the win.
Adilynn Peterson and Avah Vandermeulen each scored 11 points, and Braylyn Bultema added 10.
