Montague used a terrific second-quarter effort to build a 13-point lead that stood up the rest of the night Friday, defeating Manistee 56-48 on senior night.
The Wildcats (10-7, 7-3 West Michigan Conference Lakes) outscored Manistee 20-7 in the second, taking a 30-17 lead, and held the lead the rest of the game.
"It
was a great overall team win," Montague coach Jess DeBruin said.
"Everyone contributed in some way and we came together to get a good
conference win. We had a rough start to the third quarter after a strong
end to the second quarter, but were able to bounce back."
Braylyn Bultema and Addison Pranger, both seniors, scored 15 points each to lead the way. Fellow seniors Maizie Collins and Avah Vandermeulen each had nine points.
