Reeths-Puffer hockey buried by Byron Center in first-round conference tournament game

Reeths-Puffer took a 9-1 beating at the hands of Byron Center Tuesday night in the first round of the O-K Baum Conference tournament.
It was the first time the Rockets had lost a game by more than two goals all season, and was a stark contrast to the 3-3 tie between the teams just a couple of weeks ago.
The Bulldogs scored in the first 15 seconds of the game and kept pouring on the pressure, with four goals in the first period. Ayden Hartzell scored the Rockets' only goal, a power-play score, in the second period, but by then it was too late to slow the Byron Center onslaught. Four Bulldogs scored two goals apiece.
R-P was outshot 29-13 in the game.
