Reeths-Puffer leads local cheer teams with close 2nd-place finish at GMAA

Reeths-Puffer narrowly missed the top spot at Monday's GMAA cheer meet, hosted by Oakridge. The Rockets scored an impressive 752.84 points, 10.5 fewer than first-place Mona Shores.
Montague had a great night, scoring 698.04 points to take fourth, and Whitehall was sixth, with 643.18 points.
R-P led the meet after two rounds, 447.5-445.6, before the Sailors outscored the Rockets in the final round to retake the lead. R-P led all teams in round two, with 216.74 points.
Montague continued its sterling work in round three, scoring 300 points, just 0.7 behind Fruitport, who finished in third at the meet.
Whitehall's best round was also round three, in which the Vikings scored 264 points.
