Whitehall got a close look at one of the best teams in the state
across all divisions Monday night, losing a 69-37 decision to Division 1
No. 2-ranked Rockford.
The Vikings (13-3), who are ranked No.
6 in Division 2, trailed by only a point after the first quarter,
13-12, but the Rams turned on the jets from there, outscoring Whitehall
25-6 in the second. The Vikes could never recover.
Rockford
was so efficient, shooting 50 percent from the field and 40 percent from
three-point range, that Camden Thompson did not get his customary
double-double, though he came close. Thompson led the team with 20
points - half of them coming from the foul line - and nine rebounds. No
other Viking managed more than five points, and the team turned the ball
over 21 times.
