Whitehall girls basketball fades late in tough loss to Ludington

Whitehall fell to second-place Ludington Thursday night in West Michigan Conference Lakes play by a 57-39 score, its third straight loss.
The Vikings (8-7, 3-5 WMC Lakes) trailed by just six points, 41-35, going into the fourth quarter, but their offense sputtered down the stretch and the Orioles outscored them 16-4 in the pivotal final eight minutes.
Sidney Shepherd led Whitehall with 15 points and Lexi Daggett chipped in nine.
