Montague softball loses thrilling opener at West Ottawa

West Ottawa roared past Montague in Friday's season-opening game, scoring six runs in the seventh inning to escape with a 17-16 victory.
The Wildcats ripped off seven first-inning runs and led at every stop until the Panthers' late rally.
Reagan Cederquist and Kayden Johnson had huge days at the plate for the 'Cats; Cederquist went 6-for-6 with two RBI and Johnson was 5-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored. Greta Auch added four hits and scored three times.
