Reeths-Puffer opened its season with big offensive numbers, scoring eight first-inning runs en route to a 13-0 win over Muskegon Catholic.
The game ended after five innings due to the mercy rule.
R-P benefited from five hit batsmen, a walk, two errors and a passed-ball third strike in the first. Colton Bessinger delivered a run-scoring single in the inning as well.
Brendan Guikema led the Rocket bats with three hits and two RBI. Cade Paugh got two hits and scored four times.
R-P pitching was also strong, allowing only three hits. Drew Brooks and Brayden Mitchelson each pitched two innings and had five strikeouts between them.
