Reeths-Puffer softball bats heat up cold night in doubleheader sweep of Zeeland East

Despite cold temperatures, Reeths-Puffer's bats were hot Tuesday in a doubleheader sweep of Zeeland East, 16-5 and 11-7.
The opener ended after five innings due to the mercy rule. Mady Snyder delivered a two-run home run in the first inning, sparking a five-run frame. She ripped an RBI single in the second inning, and Abbie Critchett mashed a RBI double in the third. Snyder got three hits in all with three RBI, and Lainey McDaniel also got three hits and scored four times. Critchett and Kyleigh Bilek each got two hits. Snyder picked up the win in the circle, allowing two earned runs and striking out nine.
R-P (3-0) got off to a quick start again in game two, scoring four first-inning runs. Three came across on consecutive RBI singles by Snyder, Tessa Ross and Brook Buchan. Ross got four hits in the game and scored three times, Snyder had two hits and three runs, and Buchan had two hits and three RBI. Critchett also had two hits. McDaniel allowed four earned runs and struck out 10 in six innings.
