Whitehall's boys team finished a strong third place at Saturday's Grand Rapids Elite Challenge, led by three personal bests from senior Camden Thompson.
Thompson
and Ayden Mendoza were the Vikings' two event winners at the meet;
Thompson won the 110-meter hurdles in a personal best time of 15.12
seconds, and Mendoza took the high jump with a mark of 6-6.
Thompson
also set personal bests in shot put (45-9.5) and discus (146-10),
finishing sixth and eighth respectively in the events. He placed fifth
in high jump (6-2).
Mason Mulnix finished fourth for the
Vikings in the 400-meter dash with a personal best time of 50.60
seconds. He also finished fifth in the 100 (11.48). Kal Koehler was
fourth in the long jump (20-11), and in the 3,200 relay, Hunter Parsons,
Jevon Hilliard, Tyler Van Antwerp and Stewart Waters placed fourth
(8:54.8).
Lexi Poulin earned the top finish for the Whitehall girls, placing 10th in high jump (4-6).
